A convincing conversation can be harmful to your work in reviving the Christian Kingdom on earth.

While some people have the skills to convince you to change your life for the better, other people with the same talent for conversation could convince you to go in the opposite direction that you should.

As a Christian who is talking with people about reviving Christianity’s presence in the public for the first time, it isn’t unlikely that you will find yourself in a conversation with someone who almost completely changes your mind. There are convincing conversationalists with different ideas. While some people have the skills to convince you to change your life for the better, other people with the same talent for conversation could convince you to go in the opposite direction that you should.

However, it is helpful to keep in mind some key points that you can reflect upon and research personally to help keep you from changing your mind when it is really only persuasive rhetoric and a lack of the information you could have had that turns you in the wrong direction. For one, Jesus definitely wanted people to share his life and teachings with others, and a movement aimed at reinvigorating Christians’ interest in that mission is firmly grounded in general Christian philosophy and tradition.

What about the possibility of Christians improving their condition at this point in time, where many Christians–especially younger Christians–feel they have to be careful about sharing their opinions publicly? Well, history–and recent history at that–has shown that people who feel they are not able to express themselves as freely and fairly as others can absolutely improve their condition on a large scale over time. Also consider the merit of the core teachings on living life that the modern Christian movement would embody, such as the belief in genuine empathy and equality. Those who understand for themselves key concepts such as real empathy and equality, the power of people to change the society in which they live, and the commission of Jesus to spread the good news will be much better guarded against even the most convincing conversation that might lead them in another direction.
