How you learned about the Christian faith can keep you from fully embracing it because the way you first learned about it may be causing you to misunderstand it in a way that lessens your opinion of it.
On the other hand, a Christian who sees the Christian faith as it really is sees how it provides insights into how to live life.
Christians, part of what can keep you from fully embracing the Christian faith is not seeing it for what it really is. For example, do you mainly see your Christian beliefs about how to live as a lot of rules that are hanging over your head? On the other hand, a Christian who sees the Christian faith as it really is sees how it provides insights into how to live life.
Do you feel you may misunderstand the Christian faith in a way that lessens your opinion of it? Maybe you feel that the Christian faith is ultimately good, even though the way you learned about it can keep you from fully embracing it at times, and you want to make sure you understand it the right way. If you feel this way, you can reteach yourself with the help of others by talking to faithful Christians, reading Christian texts, and trying to see anew what your faith is meant to be about.
None of this means that embracing your faith is a matter of seeing it with rose-colored glasses. That is to look at something with unrealistic optimism. However, you are not being unrealistic when you look at the Christian faith optimistically, and freeing yourself of misunderstandings that lessen your opinion of it will lead to more fully embracing it.
